Based on this fact, this Red Planet called Mars is relatively less opaque or dense compared to the Planet Earth for obvious reason. Only eleven percent is the known mass of this Planet Mars, while the Planet Earth has fifteen percent.

In the Solar System, the Red Planet or the Planet Mars is the fourth planet. This planet derived its name from the Roman god of war, Mars and what makes this planet appear to be generally reddish is the existence of the iron oxide in its surface. Just like the only living planet, Earth, this Solar System planet has polar ice caps, deserts, valleys and some volcanoes as well.

According to some experts, the some similarities and resemblances of this Red Planet in comparison to the Living Planet; Planet Mars is considered to be a second Earth in the near future. Just like the tilt of the Earth, the Planet Mars is also experiencing various seasons comparable to the seasons happening on the Planet Earth as well. What makes this Red Planet interesting is the fact that there can be a possibility the water may have had existed in the surface of this planet since according to the Mariner 4 space expedition during the mid-1960′s had shown various evidences that may support the presence of liquid water.

The sidereal rotation period is just like a day for the Earth with 24.622 hours or approximately 1.025957 earth days. 5.027 kilometers per second is the escape velocity and its equatorial surface gravity around 0.376 g or gravitational force or just about 3.711 meter per square seconds. The Planet Mars mean density is more or less 3.9335 grams in a centimeter squared while the said planet’s mass is about 0.107 Earths.

The reddish tint or color of the Planet Mars may be one of the suspects why individuals here on Earth give due attention to this Red Planet. Some people believe that there are beings called ‘Martians’ that exist and live in the said planet.
